We’ve spent a bunch of time with each of the Genshin Impact characters, ranking them against each other in numerous different areas to come up with this Genshin Impact tier list. There are also rumours of new characters on the way, and we plan to update this guide with them as soon as they’re available. So, as a result, we recommend that you bookmark this list and keep checking back to keep on top of the latest changes.

Albedo

Albedo is a well-known alchemist in the service of the Knights of Favonius. He is renowned for his limitless, obscure knowledge, and research is his one true love. If you need some help with this character, take a look at our Genshin Impact Albedo guide.

Alhaitham

Genshin Impact’s Alhaitham is the current scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya. A few of the Pocket Tactics team would also argue he’s one of the most handsome characters in-game.

Aloy

You may recognise Genshin Impact’s Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. She wields a bow and harnesses the power of cryo.

Amber

A three-time winner of the Gliding Championship in Mondstadt, Amber is an Outrider in the Knights of Favonius. If you’re on the lookout for a good build, head over to our Genshin Impact Amber guide.

 

Ayaka

Ayaka is the daughter of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan. You can learn all about her best build by visiting our Genshin Impact Ayaka guide.

Ayato

Genshin Impact’s Ayato is the brother of Ayaka, head of the Kamisato Clan, and Yashiro Commissioner. He’s a very handsome man and loves drinking boba.

Baizhu

Genshin Impact Baizhu is a dendro-wielding catalyst user and healer who you we all met on our first visit to Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue.

Barbara

The most popular bard of Mondstadt, Genshin Impact’s Barbara is also the Deaconess of the Favonius Church.

Beidou

Bane of all sea beasts, Genshin Impact’s Beidou is a powerful warrior that can draw lightning into her sword.

Bennett

The last remaining member of Benny’s Adventure Team, Bennett is known for his unfortunate luck. We also have a handy guide to help you master Genshin Impact’s Bennett.

Candace

Genshin Impact’s Candace hails from Sumeru and wields a polearm. She has a hydro vision.

Chongyun

You might not think it to look at him, but Genshin Impact’s Chongyun is actually a famous exorcist, and very capable of ridding the land of evil spirits.

Collei

Genshin Impact’s Collei is a four-star dendro bow wielder that is a forest ranger trainee from Sumeru.

Cyno

Genshin Impact’s Cyno is a polearm-wielder with an electro vision. He’s known for his quick wit and love of honeyed dates.

Dehya

Genshin Impact’s Dehya is a five-star claymore-wielder with a pyro vision. She comes from Sumeru and her birthday is on April 7th.

Diluc

By day, he runs a business, but by night he’s a legendary hero. No, we’re not referring to Batman. We’re talking about Genshin Impact’s Diluc, who runs the Dawn Winery and is, secretly, the Darknight Hero. Diona

This bartender at the Cat’s Tail is curious, as she absolutely hates alcohol despite producing some of the best wine in the region. Here’s our recommended build for Genshin Impact’s Diona.

Dori

This adorable little character is Genshin Impact’s Dori. She’s a four-star claymore-wielder with an electro vision.

Eula

Faruzan

Genshin Impact’s Faruzan is a scholar from a century ago. She comes from Haravatat, but is much more well-known around Sumeru for her talents in machinery.

Fischl

An investigator for the Adventurers’ Guild, Genshin Impact’s Fischl is a bit of an odd character that travels with a night raven, Oz.

Ganyu

A half-human, half-Qilin hybrid. Ganyu is known for being quiet, graceful, and gentle. However, among friends, Ganyu’s true personality shines and she shows off her wild side. Make sure you take a look at our Genshin Impact Ganyu guide!

Gorou

Genshin Impact’s Gorou is known as the puppy general and is the leader of the Watatsumi resistance. Despite his appearance, his great determination and courage have earned the respect and trust of all the soldiers under his command.

Heizou

Genshin Impact’s Heizou is the first male catalyst in the game and is known as a bit of a rogue detective around Inazuma.

Hu Tao

Genshin Impact’s Hu Tao is out now! She will enter the ranks of our tier list as soon as we have a chance to play her.

Itto

Genshin Impact’s Itto is a half-oni and the head of the Arataki gang. He loves taking part in ramen-eating and beetle-fighting competitions.

Jean

As Grandmasters of the Mondstadt Knights, Genshin Impact’s Jean is a pretty big deal. She is confident, loyal, and tackles challenges head-on.

Kaeya

A trusted member of the Knights of Favonius, Genshin Impact’s Kaeya is a powerful warrior in his own right.

Kaveh

In Genshin Impact, Kaveh is Alhaitham’s disgruntled roommate, a dendro damage dealer, and is best suited to a sub-DPS role.

Kazuha

Genshin Impact’s Kazuha is a five-star anemo character from Inazuma. He’s a ronin who wields a sword.

Keqing

Kirara

Genshin Impact’s Kirara is a dendro sword-wielder who is a powerful dub-DPS and support character. We also love the fact she’s an adorable cat girl.

Klee

Kokomi

Genshin Impact’s Kokomi is the divine priestess of Watatsumi Island in Inazuma. She is a fine strategist, and someone you can count on during times of war.

Kuki Shinobu

In Genshin Impact, Kuki Shinobu is a member of the Arataki gang alongside the boisterous Itto.

Layla

Despite the amount of sleep she gets, Genshin Impact’s Layla always looks a little sleep-deprived due to academic stress.

Lisa

An intelligent witch that loves a nap, Lisa is the librarian for the Knights of Favonius. You score this electro character for free pretty early on, if you’d like some help mastering her, we’ve created a Genshin Impact Lisa build guide.

Mika

Genshin Impact’s Mika is a front-line surveyor of the Knights of Favonius’ Reconnaissance Company. He’s quite shy but completes all tasks set out for him diligently and hopes to become a cartographer in the future.

Mona

Nahida

This adorable little character is Genshin Impact’s Nahida. She may look unassuming, but she’s actually the current dendro Archon. Nahida wields a catalyst.

Nilou

Genshin Impact’s Nilou is an elegant woman and an amazing dancer. She wields a sword and has a hydro vision.

Ningguang

Living in the skies above Liyue, Genshin Impact’s Ningguang owns the Jade Chamber.

Noelle

Though a maid for the Knights of Favonius, Genshin Impact’s Noelle dreams of becoming a knight herself someday.

Qiqi

Raiden Shogun

Genshin Impact’s Raiden Shogun is the exalted ruler of Inazuma and the power of thunder incarnate. She’s not one to be messed with.

Razor

Growing up amongst wolves, Genshin Impact’s Razor is more at home in the forest than cities. Having said that, he chooses to fight with a massive sword rather than his teeth and nails. That’s probably for the best.

Rosaria

Genshin Impact’s Rosaria is a sister of the Church of Favonius, who you might remember from your quest with Albedo over in Dragonspine.

Sara

Genshin Impact’s Sara is the leader of the Tenryou Commission’s forces. She has sworn allegiance to Raiden Shogun. You can find a full Genshin Impact Sara guide right here.

Sayu

Genshin Impact’s Sayu is an adorable girl with a tanuki hoodie who wields a claymore and harnesses the power of anemo. Her elemental burst involves throwing a large Muji-Muji Daruma.

Shenhe

Genshin Impact’s Shenhe is a five-star character with a cryo vision. She wields a polearm and hails from the beautiful Liyue region.

Sucrose

Tartaglia

It’s unclear what motivates Genshin Impact’s Tartaglia, who is a member of the Eleven Harbingers. Intriguingly, he fights with a bow as it’s the weapon that he’s weakest with, so who knows what power lurks within?

Thoma

Genshin Impact’s Thoma is the housekeeper for the Kamisato Clan and is known as a fixer around his homeland of Inazuma. He has a serious side, but is generally a pretty laidback guy.

Tighnari

This boy with bunny ears is Genshin Impact’s Tighnari. He’s the lead ranger of the Dawson Rainforest and is very knowledgeable about the nation’s flora.

 

Traveler

Traveler is the protagonist of Genshin Impact! They have the ability to switch between anemo, dendro, geo, and electro elements by resonating with the Statues of the Seven. Take a look at our Genshin Impact Traveler guide for help.

Venti

Wanderer

Genshin Impact’s Wanderer came into existence in place of his previous incarnation, Scaramouche. He has all of his former self’s memories but no longer thinks of himself as that person.

Xiangling

Xiao

Xingqiu

Xinyan

Liyue’s sole rock ‘n’ roll musician, Genshin Impact’s Xinyan rebels from the social norm. Her music soothes the souls of the weary.

Yae Miko

Genshin Impact’s Yae Miko is the head shrine maiden of Grand Narukami Shrine. She is the editor-in-chief of Yae Publishing, and is not fully understood by mortal folk.

Yaoyao

Genshin Impact’s Yaoyao may be young, but she still takes great care of all those around her. She trains under a master at Liyue Harbour and loves to travel.

Yelan

Genshin Impact’s Yelan is a bow-wielding, hydro character who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs, but is classed as a ‘non-entity’ on their list.

Yanfei

Genshin Impact’s Yanfei is the child of an Adeptus and a human. She is currently in the care of Madame Ping.

Yoimiya

Genshin Impact’s Yoimiya is a five-star pyro character, who wields a bow and hails from the gorgeous new Inazuma region.

Yun Jin

In Genshin Impact, Yun Jin is known to be a fantastic opera singer and dancer. She also brews tea at the Heyu Tea House. She’s a four-star geo character who wields a polearm.

Zhongli
