When is the Ex Astris release date?

Unfortunately, news on the Ex Astris release date has been sparse since its initial announcement back in 2021, with even the official Twitter and Facebook pages remaining relatively mute over the last year.

However, with Hypergryph currently working towards the Arknights: Endfield release date, we presume the sequel to their hit gacha game will take priority over Ex Astris. As such, we believe it’s unlikely that we’ll hear much news about Ex Astris until after Endfield is released.

In an FAQ post on September 15, 2021, Hepergryph states that Ex Astris is currently in the prototyping stage, with many new mechanics, systems, and polish yet to be implemented. It also states that the game is a mobile-first title, with its release prioritising optimisation for both Android and iOS. As such, we expect there will be a CBT on Android and iOS before we get a full release date.

Of course, we’ll update this page if we hear anything about betas, pre-registrations, or a release window, so be sure to stay tuned. You can also follow the official Twitter and Facebook, and keep an eye on the official Ex Astris website to keep up to date on all the latest developments.

What is the Ex Astris gameplay like?

Ex Astris is a turn-based 3D RPG. Its story begins on a tidally locked planet with a rising Xeno civilisation. Hailing from earth, you are assigned to the planet for an investigation, during which you meet a group of travelling friends and embark on an enchanting adventure.

The turn-based combat system occurs in real-time, allowing you to block, parry, and line up combo attacks. You can also employ customised skill combinations to defeat different types of enemies. When it comes to team composition, you have six characters to choose from, and can select up to three to form your party.

Through the prototyping phase, Hypergryph has also highlighted its intention to introduce more enemies, explorative and interactive elements, main and side quests, fresh systems like cooking and alchemy, new map expansions, and other forms of non-linear character progression.

You can check out the pre-alpha gameplay showcase above to get a glimpse of the action at this early stage of development.
