With the recent release of Metroid Prime: Remastered, many Nintendo fans have Metroid on their mind. So in some very serendipitous timing, the composer Rozen (Kena: Bridge of Spirits) is launching a project to bring the music of Metroid to life in a whole new way. Phazon: Metroid Saga is a collaborative project between Rozen, David Peacock, Revensings, alongside the Sofia Session Orchestra, the ETHEReal String Orchestra, and Larry Salzman.

The project reimagines several classic Metroid tracks, inspired by their classic industrial sound while weaving “complex synth and orchestral textures” to add new flavour to the music many fans know and love. The album releases on April 21, 2023, and you can listen to a preview of the arrangement of ‘Magmoor Caverns’ over at Bandcamp now.

In fact, eager fans can follow this link to pre-order the album on Bandcamp, Spotify, or Apple Music. Meanwhile, a CD is available through Bandcamp should you want a physical version of the release, and orders through Bandcamp also give access to hidden tracks not available anywhere else. Łukasz Sienkiewicz is behind the cover art, and we expect physical copies to release in July 2023.

Listen to a preview of several tracks from the project thanks to the launch teaser from Rozen’s YouTube channel below.
