Farmers, rejoice! A Stardew Valley 1.6 update is coming to add more content to the smash-hit simulation title. With the developer ConcernedApe taking a break from other projects, the solo developer took to Twitter to share the news more Stardew content is coming in the near future.

Following the massive 1.5 update back in 2020 – or later for mobile users – the Stardew community has been wondering if that might have been the last time we saw new content arrive in the valley, with the developer concentrating on the upcoming game Haunted Chocolatier. Fortunately, as you can see in ConcernedApe’s statement below, the perfect break from developing HC seems to be in creating more content for Stardew.

“There is going to be a Stardew 1.6 update. It’s mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod). But there is also new game content, albeit much less than 1.5. I’m taking a break from Haunted Chocolatier to work on this at the moment. Then back to HC”

New tools for modding are great, but the real excitement is in what the new game content might consist of. There’s no timeline yet, so we’re keeping our eyes glued to ConcernedApe’s Twitter profile to see if any more updates arise.
